I agree with you entirely. I'm a Boy Scout leader (have had them since 2nd
grade) and an Asst. Brownie Leader (2nd grade). If we can't teach them
responsibility for their own actions, how will they ever learn???
Now....if it would only work ;)
In Boy Scouts, we've been able to "pass the buck" by calling the Patrol
Leaders and having them do the reminding...atleast a couple of kids are
handling the responsibility. But I still find that many of the boys are
space-shots (is that the male equivalent of air-head?) about remembering
things. M\One of our problems is that their moms keep calling us when each
of the boys has a printed schedule, printed notices, etc. Moms keeping
calling 'just to double check'.
