The "good times" virus is a HOAX HOAX HOAX !!!!
In simple terms, any virus needs to be written in executable code. The
victim needs to run a program that contains the virus code. For PC
types, this means a program that ends in .exe or .com. A .bat program,
can also start a .exe or .com program and thereby run a virus.
You can't get a virus from a text file, although the source code can be
sent as a text file, it needs to be assembled or compiled and then
executed to run.
I feel that there is one point that needs to be made, however. If
someone you don't know sends you some program (executable code) as an
attachment to e-mail, check it out before you run it.
There is a 'virus' news group that has a great FAQ. Anybody
interested in learning more should go over there and download their FAQ.
