unfortunetly I think that is the opinion of most councils too. A one hour
session on backpacking would barely teach you where to look for recources.
I would like to see national develop a supplemental program. Wood Badge is
one but it is more managerial than hands on. I know I would like to learn
more, and would also be willing to share my knowledge on a staff.
Our district used to do Saturday "show and do's" Pick a couple of related
topics and spend a half day on each.But alas that was then and this is now.
