That's absolutely correct, Fred! Thanks!
One small item: the Hornaday Award, as well as several other of the BSA's
service awards, are "restricted to wearer". This means that you can't go
down the Scout Shop and pick up a square knot. In order to get the knot,
you must write (or have the local Council to write) the appropriate National
service and request it from them. After they verify that "yes, you DID earn
that award!", they will ONLY send you ONE order of up to FIVE knots every
five years. National has requested all of the divisions that have authority
to send insignia to keep records as to when you have requested, how many you
have requested and
when you have received the award. I know this from first hand, because I
have to wait five years to get ONE more Hornaday Award square knot (I
requested my five already, and I got a new uniform shirt with no knot to
place on it).
The Program Group is saying "there's no execeptions. This is to cut down on
folks requesting them for patch trading purposes (*raising hand* guilty
here, that's what happened to the first two I received!)."
Man, and I thought getting stuff from the Council office was bad! *hehehehee*
