On Weds Nov. 8th I will be running a Roundtable training session on
using computers for Scouting. I would like to have some E-mail to show
my fellow Scouters . <<<
Hi, Bill and friends.
Background: I began as a Den Leader in Pack 71 and have been
Webelos Den Leader and Den Leader Coach, too. Now I'm a Committee
Member (1 commitee for both pack and troop). I'm the Advancement
Chairman for Troop 71 now, and on the District Committee as Cub
Activities chairman. I'm also on PowWow staff and Cub Leader training
staff. We're in Anthony Wayne District, Toledo Area Council, Toledo,
Of course, the obvious use for computers is to get mail from Scouts-L!!
I used my PC to create 1-page "newsletters", text only, for parents of
kids in our dens (my husband was the other leader for both of our boys'
dens.) Now I use it to create a larger newsletter for both the pack and
the troop with a masthead and clipart scattered through it. I also use
Troopmaster to keep track of advancement; I'd be lost without it!
The PC is a great tool for creating handouts for training sessions, too,
and I assembled this year's PowWow book using Word Perfect.
