Here's another tip to be added to the thousands already posted!!!
Two years ago at the Wichita National Wildlife Preserve near Lawton, OK, my
troop encountered another troop at our annual winter camp-out. Their SPL
advised us of a trick his dad (the previous SM) had taught them: You have to
do something with your coat while you'r asleep anyway, and putting it over
your bag causes it to be next to instead of over you the next morning. Zip
it up (or button, or whatever) and slide the feet of your bag into the coat
from the waist up to the neck. Your coat becomes the outer liner for the
foot portion of your bag. It helps alot (along with all the other wonderful
suggestions that have been posted, such as clean socks, no clothing, and cap
on the head).
