Here in UK the Venture Scout program runs from fifteen to twenty.
In addition there are University Scout and Guide Clubs in many colleges,
as well as organisations like the Scout and Guide Graduate Association
which have no age limit. In addition the Scout Fellowship, part of the
International Fellowship of Former Scouts and Guides , takes members of
any age who wish to retain links with Scouting but do not want / have time
to get involved in a leadership or administrative capacity. The Scout
Association (UK) also has a category of membership which is " Member of
the Scout Association " but does not carry a job title. These individuals
register with a district (usually where they live or work) and have an ID
card, but are not allocated to a unit or district position. This is
useful for individuals who help out occasionally with activities, or
those with specials skills who one wishes to keep in touch.
Apparently BSA does not have an adult " service organisation " in the
same way that is part of IFOFSAG. Obviously adults who are members of
the OA have that avenue to serve Scouting , and individuals can be
appointed as members at large of unit, district or council committees in
accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
