relative to 'training' versus 'learning' . . . .
I have observed both as a scout, and a leader that the
best way to really learn a skill, is to be 'forced' into
teaching that skill to others. Maybe you thought you
know it all, but I bet if you review the NEW materials,
you might find something NEW or changed since you last
were taught the skill. Also, with scouts you will almost
always get a question not covered by your lesson plan.
Teaching a skill to scouts really sharpens your own skills.
Same holds true if it is an older scout teaching, or a
ASM teaching a skill that none of the scouts are qualified
My 2 cents for today, now I gotta go prepare to teach/learn :)
