Claudia made two excellent comments.
Her first point needs no further comment by me other than Yes!
Her second point and perhaps more important to many of us regards popcorn
and/or the lack thereof while camping. Our first Webelos Camporee was
last weekend (Knights of the Roundtable Theme. We took a couple of 2nd
and 3rd places in activities with new Webelos on their 1st camporee!).
But, I digress, forgive me. There was no shortage of goodies and the boys
were busily preparing S'mores and many ingenious variations on the theme.
Suddenly, a strange odor wafted slowly upon us from a neighboring
campsite. (Stop that! Not what you were thinking). At first we believed
someone had burned some oil, but then, moments later the realization came
upon us. Our fine neighbors were making POPCORN.
Though satiated on graham crackers, marshmallows, Hershey bars and Hot
Cocoa, the very odor of the charred corn made them salivate for more.
Cries of "They have popcorn!" and "Do we have Popcorn!?" roared through
the campsite. Alas we had none to offer our ravenous lads and were
thoroughly chastised by them for not having remembered that most basic of
items "The Popcorn"
Let this serve as a lesson to yee all lest yee suffer the slings and
arrows of outraged Cub Scouts.
Good tidings to all, Jess
