Well, I know you have all been waiting with baited breath for
the next Patch Challenge. (Have a breath mint, it will help!) I had
one all planned out, but I never thought I'd win, so of course it
escapes me now!
After much thought, well, here's my second choice :-)...
I have spoke before of how many times an adult can change the
course of a childs' life without knowing it. It can be through a
word, a quiet moment, a hand on the shoulder, or just a look.
Help remind us leaders that we are making a difference, even if
we feel we have a tough job to do to make even a small difference.
So, here's your challenge...
I would like to hear what some adult out of YOUR past did that
made a difference in your life. It doesn't have to be a scout
leader it could be a teacher, a neighbor, an older relative, etc.
Something they don't even realize they did, that made your life
better, put you on a better path, or gave you confidence to go
on. Please explain how it changed your life or thinking.
I'll give it about 2-3 weeks so you have time to explore your memory
banks. I'll even post a reminder when I'm about to close the contest.
My tissue box beside me, I'm ready. If it gets too tough, I may
enlist the help of my co-leaders to judge. Following in Jim's
footsteps, I will also award patches for the top four "Best of Show" along
with the task to pose the next challenge.
Hope to hear from you all,
