Two people recently posted about whether it was proper to wash an American
flag. We have had at least one response that says "No." This seems
counterintuitive to me.
If I had a flag that had become dirty or smelly from being out of doors and
needed to use it in a formal situation, IMO, it would be more than proper to
take it to my local dry cleaners.
IMO, it would be disrespectful to display a soiled or smelly flag that could
easily have been cleaned. (Unless of course it's some historical
flag...like the original Star Spangled Banner! *g*)
That just seems like common sense to me.... just my 2c.
