I understand your point, John. But there is an element we leave out
when discussing these issues. Personal Honor. As a Chartered
Organization Representative, (with some sense of honor) I could not
sign or reccomend that our Chartered Organization's Executive
sign, for a Charter renewal wherein the CC, and SM names were
not "real"! I am sure that more often than not the situation in
Charter renewals is that the CR is the position for whom the name
on the charter is"bogus".
I have spoken to registered CR's who, when asked about their
role in their organization's scouting program, responded with a
resounding, " huh... what troop?" Some body in that situation
certainly stretched ... " A Scout is Trustworthy"
The long and the short of it: Those who "get around this by simply
getting three names on a piece of paper" are dishonorable!
