As a new subscriber to Scout-L, I would like introduce myself.
My name is Warren Norrie. I am an Assistant Cub Scout Leader at
1st Gerringong. Gerringong is a small town (population 1200) approx.
120Km South of Sydney, Australia. I am married and have 2 boys
(8, 10 years) both in Cubs. My main interests are Scouting and Radio
I am currently undertaking my Woodbadge, and as a project I
have undertaken to contact 4 Cub Scout Leaders from around the world
(hopefully one from each continent). I would like to get information
about scouting in their country to be used in my pack to introduce the
World Fellowship of Scouting. Part 2 of my project is to introduce
scouting on the internet to other leaders in my district, Southern
Cub Scout leaders who are keen to contribute or swap scouting
activities unique to their country please contact me at
My first contribution to the list is a cooking activity which
our pack really enjoys, MINI PIZZAs. These are cooked in an oven made from
a 10 gallon drum. The Pizzas are made from English Muffins cut in half
and spread with tomato paste, sprinkled with grated mozarella cheese.
Add any pizza ingredients you like(ham and pineapple are the most popular
with the cubs). Place the pizzas on a rack (usually made from old steel
fridge shelves)in the preheated (very hot) oven and cook until the cheese is
melted. These are very popular with everybody.
I look forward to exchanging many ideas, yours in scouting.
