I agree that the SPLs and JASMs should be invited to attend Roundtable as
part of their jobs just like we invite all Unit leaders to these events.
It is these boy leaders who are planning and directing the programs in
their units and need much of the information that is given out at
Roundtable to be effective in their jobs.
The separate breakout session is a good way to organize the Roundtable.
There is often an need to have multiple adult sessions at a Roundtable anyway
so adding an SPL/JASM session after the general session should not be a
problem. I would suggest that the SPL/JASM session be youth led. This
gives the more experienced youth leaders a chance to pass on their
knowledge. You might even consider asking one or two of your district's
experienced youth leaders to serve on Roundtable Staff as the SPL/JASM
session coordinators. Such a position could even be used as one of the
leadership positions for Star and above rank if needed.
