I have been lurking around on this list for about two weeks now.
I just thought I might introduce myself.
My name is Darby Crouch. I am the Scoutmaster of Troop 182 in
Eugene Oregon, in the Oregon Trail Council. I have been scoutmaster for
about 2 1/2 years. I was originally just going to be the scoutmaster for
two months until I was finished with some schooling. But, suprise! I'm
still here and loving it. This is an especially fun job for me as I was
once the SPL for this troop, and even earned my Eagle here.
In the past I have served as assistant scoumaster both here in
Oregon and Virginia when I belonged to Uncle Sam. I have also been the
Skipper of Ship 8 in Norfolk Virginia (sadly, now defunct). I am a Vigil
member in Tsisqan Lodge #253 and have served as lodge chief as well.
I recently took on the job of ditrict exploring chairman. I have
no idea what I'm doing yet, but no one else knows what I'm suppose to do
either, so they all think I'm doing a good job :)
I have served for 7 summers at Camp Baker on the Oregon Coast,
and 2 years at Camp Melakwa in the Cascades. My area of interest at camp
is pioneering, sailing, and C.O.P.E (which I'm going to school for next
Well, I guess that's all for my 15 minutes of fame. I really
enjoy this list and hope to contribute to it in the future.
