Doug is right. The leadership skills appear in both the JLTC Staff Guide and
in Wood Badge. The JLTC Staff Guide is available through the Scout Shop
(Supply Division) and requires no Council approval to purchase.
In the '70's the leadership skills were presented in the two training
publications mentioned and a summary of the skills appeared in the
Scoutmaster Handbook until the 1990 rewrite. I understand that they will be
reincorporated in the SMHB in a future printing.
But, did you realize, four or five of the leadeship skills are available for
junior leader training and reading. They appear in exercises in the Junior
Leader Handbook. There are exercises on needs & characteristics, planning,
resources and information or activities on several other skills. These are
done at a youth level. The JLHB is a sometimes neglected resource for Junior
Leader Training in the troop, but it can give you many ideas.
