We were recently contacted by the ranger for one of our parks, asking if
the local Girl Scouts would like to do something related to trees that
were dedicated 50 years ago by the Girl Scouts. One evidently came down
in teh flood we had two years ago, and we thought we mght plant another
one in it's place, but that will have to wait for Spring. We don't feel
we can pull anything together before November. By then it will be too
late to plant a tree here in Central NY. What I need are some ideas on
what we could do to dedicate the tree now (within the anniversary year)
and plant in the spring. We are considering a general clean-up of the
park, as well as tree-related activities, and a dedication ceremony.
Any suggestions are welcome!
