Our troop committee wants to offer an annual award in memory of a recently
deceased scout. The award would be made to the scout who best exemplifies
the spirit of wit at campouts throughout the year. It would be an award based
on pure ability to enjoy one's self, not based on advancement or accomplishment.
We are looking into possibly awarding a small plaque, possibly a camp
(reducing summer camp by 50%), and having the scouts themselves choose the
recipient of this award.
Considerations: criteria? nominations? vote? by whom? We DO NOT want this to
be a popularity contest. Our intent is to honor the love of camp expressed
Does anyone offer an award which is in any way similar to this --- based on
ability to have fun? All suggestions would be appreciated.
In the spirit of scouting,
