Oh, I don't know about that. I really like the idea of using a tent =
with a little burned spot in the roof. Sounds kind of quaint, doesn't =
it? On the other hand, don't you think the fire bucket MIGHT be useful =
in preventing ALL of our tents from burning rather than just one? And =
it really doesn't matter how many years we've gone without a =
catastrophe--the motto is still "Be Prepared."
If we are teaching appropriate camping skills those fire buckets
are just for show anyway. I may have been lucky, but in over 20 years
of scouting I have never had a tent burn nor been aware of one burning
at any function I attended. The material tents are made of these days
will likely burn too quickly for anything to be much good.
