I'm interested, too. I always was an "outside-the-tent" guy, thinking it
helped protect the floor of the tent from sticks, rocks, and the like. We
all know though, that an outside ground cloth can collect runoff from the
sides of the tent unless it is carefully tucked in. I heard the
"inside-the-tent" approach recently, and it was explained to me that
inevitably water gets in through the floor, and that having the ground
cloth helps protect the belongings in the tent.
So, I'm curious to hear, as well.
