I am the Adult Chief of our Fall Camporee in October. A troop leader
called me and asked about two things that I included in my Camporee book
First, someone told him that the NEW rule about fire buckets is that
there should be one for each tent put in a central place, all together.
This makes sure that the scout actually leaves the tent in case of fire!?
Second, an appropriate axe yard should be located in your campsite. Does
there HAVE to be an axe &/or bow saw present, displayed properly? This
leader believes that he should sheath the tools and place them in an
adult tent so a younger scout wont accidentally use the equipment, even
in the yard. If no equipment in yard, should points be deducted?
Two interesting topics, especially the fire bucket deal. Thanks for your
