Now what is surprising about that DE reply? The new sylabus came out
this past Spring, and has already been used in Northeast Illinois
Council for two cycles of Boy Scout leader training. Northwest
Suburban Council is using the course (as we speak) since they are in
the middle of their fall cycle of training.
Just pick up a new manual (look inside the front cover and be sure it
is a 1995 printing. There are numbers of changes to the course.
As a trainer, we have an obligation to keep our training current. It
is not the DE's responsibility, but ours. So, go to your trading
post, scout shop, whatever, order the training manual if they do not
have a 1995 edition on the shelf, and you'll be set.
Your course is seriously out of date, if it is not this latest
edition. Ethics in action is one of the strongest areas of change, I
p.s. publication numbers rarely change. However, if you have trouble
finding it, I can get the number from you by phone in a minute or two.
Let me know. PLEASE do not use out of date training, as is being
planned in Chicago Area Council for this coming Spring in Phoenix
