YPT - required?

Is the requirement that someone be YPT a local requirement? It hasn't
been mentioned here, and I can't find this requirement in the
literature. Sounds like a nice idea, but I don't think there are really
_any_ training requirements for BSA leaders. (I know that the GSUSA
requirements differ in this regard.)
