first choice, pressure on the wound and pressure bandage
second choice, pressure points upstream
third choice, tourniquet
fourth choice, death by bleeding.
If the first choice doesn't work; you're that dozen miles
from trailhead; and your cellular (you're a thoroughly
modern Troop) phone doesn't have the range, what are the
thoughts on cauterization? Can it seal a vessel without
totally impeding blood flow (as would choice three), and
avoid choice four? Obviously something you wouldn't
want, though you may need, to do. Any professional Medical
