One tradition we've had going for about 6 years now is to get the BIG lodge
at the camp for a weekend in November. We invite the 5th grade Webelos & Dads
from several packs to come out and spend the night. The troop adults cook a
huge dinner featuring turkey smoked over hickory and charcoal with all the
usual trimmings. (I might add that this is the *only* time where *we* cook
and serve the guys.) This gets the Webelos acquainted with the troop, and
helps with our recruiting in Feb/Mar.
Usually the younger guys stay in the lodge, the older scouts have the option
of pitching a tent. This is (obviously) one of the best attended troop
