I believe Paul had noted that in his initial post about the mb changes. He
indicated that the list of mbs with changes did not include Lifesaving. I
offered the opinion that this might have been deleted since swimming mb is
a prerequisite for lifesaving mb and the CPR (and first aid) requirement is
now in swimming mb. Paul responded that canoeing is required for
whitewater yet the CPR and FA requirements are now part of both mbs.
I also commented that while they added FA requirements to all of the other
aquatic mbs they did not, apparently, do the same with lifesaving.
I think this whole thing is now waiting for someone to call National and
talk to John Dalrymple to see what kind of explanation they get. If anyone
does that (I might once I get a copy of the book in hand and get some time
at work) would they please post the explanation to Scouts-L?
