Meigs Field is a small airport built on landfill into Lake Michigan. Never
heard of Meigs Prairie though, and I'm a card carrying lifetime 39 yr. old
Chicagoan, 20 of that in the inner city itself. Where did you hear of it
from? There are quite a few honest to goodness prairie's in IL. though.
There is a WWW site at www.prairienet.org you might want to check out.
They're based at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and hold
a lot of info on Illinois, including- prairies.
