Dear Fellow Scouters,
I just read on the MacScouter ((http://www.macscouter.com/index.html).
A great starting point for Scout Info.) that "If you are paid to do
Scouting, you are called a Professional; If you are not paid to do
Scouting, your are called a volunteer: If you pay to do Scouting, then
your are called a Scouter."
I like to believe that I am once again a "Scouter."
I have been through the entire scouting program from Cubs to Explorers.
(No tigers back then but I did get to go camping with my brother's troop
when I was still a Cub. I'm still looking for left-handed smoke sifters
if anyone can help!). I was active in scouts from 1963 to 1973 or so. I
received my Eagle Award while serving on Camp Garland Staff in June
1970, and was also inducted into the OA as well that year later becoming
a Brotherhood Member. I served as a JASM for a troop in Boca Raton for
about a year also but, then moved on to college, work, etc.
I have been in scouting in Brooklyn, NY, Tulsa, OK, Boca Raton, FL and
now finally in Parkland, Florida.
I now have an 8 year old son and we got back into scouting together last
year. I was Den Leader for our Wolf den and became Cub Master this past
February after our first Cub Master left the area.
I have some 12 years experience with computers and have been on the net
for about 2 years now. My work involves purchasing replacement parts for
transportation and mining equipment, petro-chemical industries et.al.
I look forward to helping out whenever possible and reaching out to all
of you for a hand when necessary.
Yours in Scouting...
