I guess there are lemons with any kind of vehicle. My son has such a vehicle,
but it is not a JEEP. My own experience with Jeeps has been good. I owned
an 82 Grand Wagoneer for 11 years that was heavily used on Scout and canoe
trips. The only real problem was that the alternator went out several times
until I found a mechanic/electrician that knew what he was doing.
I now own a 93 Grand Cherokee. The only real problem is that like Rob, the
rear view mirror fell off. This was when the vehicle was left unused and
closed up in the hot sun for serveral weeks while I was on vacation. It also
happened to my wife's Honda.
The only thing I don't like about the Grand Cherokee is that I have not
figured out how to carry three canoes, like I used to do with the old Jeep.
