Making It Right and Beyond

After seeing all the mess that Mike Walton (the Blackeagle) has gotten over a
purchase by another Scouter on the list, I thought that everyone should know
that it can happen to anyone.
Back in May of this year, there was a posting on SCOUTS-L about Thunder Scout
Reservation's On-line Country Store. There was some interesting stuff and I
ordered some. After over two month of not receiving my order, but seeing
that my check had cleared, I wrote back to Thunder Scout Reservation asking
about my order or a refund.
Well yesterday (Tuesday) my order arrived. The envelope was cover with all
different kinds of stamps. With much surprise, the store operator filled my
order and included three more of the items I had ordered, plus the camp's
1995 patch. What a surprise!!! :-)
That Scouter and Country Store operator (manager) is Ed Henderson. Ed did
not have to include the extra items, but he did (The Canoe Base stuff you
sent looks and sounds great too). Ed also included his BSA Business Card.
With all the jobs in Scouting he has on the card, I don't know when he has
time to even sleep. WOW!!! :-O
Kindness gets kindness in return. Ed, I will be sending a Scouting surprise
from me to you too!!
We all make mistakes. Scouting taught me long ago, that if you make a
mistake, you must admit to it and work to make things right. Ed made it much
more than right. Thanks Ed!
