Didn't think of it until saw reference to a village harvest festival having
a Scout presence; yes, our Troop participates in the McCall Winter Carnival
with a food booth, one Friday and two weekends. The booth is lashed up out
of local poles, and we fly a number of flags off of the six flagpoles we
have integrated. We sell potato donut holes, hot drinks, hot dogs, etc. and
answer questions. It is the main financial underpinning of the Troop. We
usually gross about $1,500 to $2,000. Net is another matter of course. It's
one of those events where our area population of 3,500 expands to 25,000...
