Norman J. MacLeod (gaelwolf@MARLIN.SSNET.COM) has commented that Scouts
Canada is currently configured so that a local troop can operate as all-boy,
all-girl, or co-ed. I support (with qualifications I've previously
described) the concept of allowing girls in the B.S.A. (Scouts U.S.A.?).
However, I have a question. In Scouts Canada, has there been a situation
where a unit wishing to remain all-boy has been FORCED to admit a girl by
legal (or threat of legal) means? I fear that this is what would happen in
the U.S.A.: a troop trying to excercise the option of being all-boy would, in
fact, be forced to take anyone who applied.
