I find it ironic that, right after reading about a Scout who was left
home while his troop went camping simply becasue he wanted to carry his
watch instead of wearing it, I should come across a page in a book
(Backpackers' Handbook/Bible(?)) which states that a watch is more safely
carried than worn on the wrist.
I also told my son about the incident...he (at age 12) also thought it
was a ridiculous reason to miss a campout.
