As a Leader in a co-ed Scout Group and past Leader of co-ed Groups in other
countries, I have to note that boys find time to be with ach other out of
sight and sound of the girls - usually at those times when both the boys and
the girls don't wish to be anywhere near the opposite gender...
There are girls - one of whom is apprently VERY determined - who wish to
join the BSA. However, they are not allowed to at present because they are
not old enough to be Explorers.
You might want to discuss the co-ed Scouting option with some of us who are
either Scouts or Leaders in co-ed Scout Groups to learn some of the ways we
ensure there is time for both the boys and girls to be in informal
singel-gender groups when they feel the need to be.
