I posted this message to the list last week and since then, I have had some
problems receiving my daily digest. Several Scouters responded to me
directly, which I appreciate, but if any of you responded to the list, would
you please send a copy of your response to me directly. I would prefer not
to wait for the archive file for August to be avaliable. Sorry for the
confusion. And thanks!!
>The uniformed adult leadership of my Troop was notified today by our
Chartered >Organization's minister that all adult leaders responsible for
youth groups that meet in >his church (Episcopal) would be required to attend
Youth Protection Training >conducted by the Episcopal Church.
>The Reverend was somewhat unclear on details and he will be supplying us
with more >information as it becomes available to him. He made it very clear
that regardless of >any training that we have already had, e.g.,
Scoutmastership Fundamentals, we would >be required to attend the church's
version. This was the "message" he was getting >from his superiors.
>This is a developing situation for Troop 1. Does anyone on the List meet in
an >Episcopal Church, and if so, have you heard of such training? As Troop
1's information >on the subject becomes more available, I will be happy to
share it with those who are >interested.
