We did it! After five years of being pen pals Cadette Troop 282 of
Cleveland, Ohio and
Cadette troop 1371 of Minneapolis, Minnesota met for the first time
It was a great trip! We spent time enjoying the sights both together
as combined troops
and separately as individual troops. The places we saw together and
apart was many!
We spent an entire day at the Science and Industry Museum and took a
boat tour on the lake. We rode the double decker tour bus and saw
such places as the
Michael Jordan's Resturant, Water, Field Musuem, North Pier Chicago,
Cafe and several others. We actually got off and enjoyed time at
Navy Pier and
the scouts rode the ferries wheel and merry go round! Of course we
had go up in the
Sears Tower. What a spactacular view and I thought Cleveland was big
- there is
no comparison! Of course the scouts had to do some shopping and some
came back with some major shopping bags that they had to drag back on
Shedds Aquarium was also a stop which ended up being a great tie into
theatre "The Living Sea" at the Science and Industry Museum. They
swimming and spent time in the exercise room.
We stayed at the Resident Inn and the scouts and adults thoroughly
enjoy the apartment
like set up since it gave us all plenty of room when we were together
in bigger groups.
We got plenty of stares when both troops were walking the streets
together - 27 of us!
Ten scouts and six leaders came from Cleveland and seven scouts and
came for Minneapolis.
It was a great experience being in such a dynamtic and exciting
