We had a young scout out on a 1st or 2nd weekend backpack. The troop
was camping at one of their favorite places with a nearby stream. Of
course with water being magnetic there were some wet socks. This was a
January/February time frame outing. This young man woke up the
following morning with his only pair of socks frozen. Our troop always
does a presentation on what is needed, passes out a check list and
emphisizes the need for multiple pairs of socks (3 at least).
I was reminded of this incident at our planning meeting yesterday and
your message brought to my mind again.
