I am Episcopal, and we have long had youth leadership training for any
adults working for youth groups. It is well WITHIN the guidelines of
BSA, if you will remember we have the software (BSA program) and the
chartered org. (the hardware) has the means with which to run our
We "lease" (read that charter) our program on a one year time frame to
the "hardware" for their use within the org. youth outreach.
They can and do, require such training of their leadership, and if you
do not meet their requirements, the chartered org. can remove you,
where the local council and BSA can not.
What is the problem? Is it possible to receive youth protection
training that can HURT an adult working with kids?
