On my recent Scouting trip to Bulgaria I was approached by a friend of one
of the Scout leaders in Varna. She is a 40-year old English language teacher
with a 10-year old son. She would like to have her son spend next summer at
a camp where he would have an opportunity to speak English on a daily basis.
In exchange for this experience she is willing to work at the camp in a
full-time position. She expects that she would have to pay airfare, but
hopes that she could receive a stipend to cover living costs and incidentals.
If you know of any camp (not necessarily a Scout camp) that might be
interested in such an arrangement, I will pass this information on to her.
Although in our conversation she was thinking of a camp in the U.S., I think
she would be interested in a camp in England, Canada, or other English-
speaking country that is not too expensive to get to.
