In regards to Steve Hoar's position on smoking at Scout camp: I was a
smoker for 20 years, but because I did not think it belonged at camp I left
my "nails" at home when I accompanied my son and the other boys there for a
Guess what? After a week of NOT smoking (though REALLY wanting to the
first two/three days) I inadvertantly "kicked the habit". After returning
home I decided to see how long I could go without buying that first pack.
That was nearly two years ago and I realized that leaving my cigarettes home
to go to camp was one of the best things I ever did.
Just thought I'd throw in my two-cents worth...
