I worked in the CHQ Services area in 1993 and worked in trail equipment
where the PolarPure is distributed. Each summer new bottles are used. One
bottle can treat about 2000 gallons. Considering an average crew of 11
people, that would be at most 2-3 gallons per person/per day, for cooking
and drinking, thus between 220 and 330 gallons would need to be treated for
the entire trek. . Over a 56 day camping period at most 6 crews would use
the same bottle. That would add up to just about 2000 gallons. If I have
confused you with the calculations I apologize.
