<< Kay Papenfuss asks ideas for a gift for a departing scoutmaster?
<< . . .something besides a plaque, not from the BSA Catalog.
When I relocated two years ago, leaving the troop I had been with for
over five years, I was presented the traditional gift for the area --
a BSA campaign or "Smokey Bear" hat. In addition to being something
I can use as I continue Scouting in a new area, I am reminded of the
wonderful people and close friends I made, each time I put the hat on.
If your SM does not allready have one, you may wish to reconsider
your desire to avoid BSA. Of course, each individual is different, but
for me, the campaign hat will be cherisned for many, many years.
