Barry Brown asks the following questions:
<I am interested in finding out what kinds of foods, meals, drinks, snacks,
<ect that different leaders use. Your assistance in this would be
<1. Do you prepare foods?
<2. How much food is consumed during a troop meeting?
<3. What snacks are consumed?
<4. How many times you meet?
Our troop, and others that I have been a member of, never have food at a
"regular" meeting. We do have food at our COH and the type of food depends on
the type of COH. For example, a "normal" COH we will have snacks, drinks,
cookies, etc. However, we do have one or two family cookouts in conjunction
with a COH. Usually the troop supplies the hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, etc.
and the families bring side dishes.
Snacks at a regular troop meeting--NEVER!
We meet once a week from 7:00 p.m. til 8:30 p.m. Got to remember, these
scouts are school age and need to get up in the morning. Yes, I know it is
summer, but remember the K.I.S.S. principle. Keep It Simple, Stupid. They
don't have to remember to change times. Some units don't even meet during the
summer. Personally, I don't like that idea. Summer programs are fun!!
A Scout is Reverent--Make it a Godly day and week.
