Hello all - just returned from a beautiful week at the Curtis S. Read
Camp in upstate New York, close to Lake George. Having survived a
8 hour bus trip with 42 Scouts and 8 leaders, we arrived there just
after a major storm went thru, with no power available. They had to
evacuate camp due to falling trees and had just got back when we arrived.
With all this the camp staff went out of their way to make us feel at home
and had activities up and running for us. All the scouts enjoyed the
white water rafting options, the rock climbing and rappeling, and the
caving and COPE programs for the older Scouts. With an open program
for merit badges, I would recommend this camp to any Troop who wants choices.
E-mail me if you want add't info.
