Greetings to all this fine day ...
(well, if you consider 95 degree(F) heat and 95% humidity fine..)
I decided to finally throw in a couple of cents regarding how
hard it is to reach Eagle.
Yes, BSA has changed the requirements over the years. I certainly
benefited from the change in First Class when they started to
allow semaphore signaling instead of Morse Code. I just COULD
NOT remember that code. However, I also was bit by some other
changes. I had a very tough time earning Conservation of Natural
Resources MB. I also had an extremely tough time earning Nature.
Guess which two MB were the last ones that I earned for Eagle.
My point is that for each individual Scout, there are easy aspects
and hard aspects of earning Eagle. Sometimes it is a particular MB,
sometimes the project. Some of the changes I have seen over the
years I have applauded, some not. All in all, I think that the
requirements are comparable and the difficulty level is about
Just IMHO, of course.
