I just talked to a friend who was at Camp Mariott last week 7/9-16/95. He
reports that, while Olmstead is able to conduct aquatic merit badge
water level in the lake is extremely low -- "just barely deep enough to
swamp a canoe." Other camps are reportedly "playing in puddles."
Supposedly, the mosquitos are large, plentiful, and eat DEET for desert.
He also reported an outbreak of some sort of unexplained "spots" among
staff and campers.
Any response/correction/clarification prior to our Sunday departure would
I will collect and summarize responses.
