It sounds as if Charlotte had an interesting camp experience.
I must say that I am in agreement with her decision to allow
her son to swim in spite of the "orders" of a "control freak"
SM. Last time I checked, "SM" does not stand for Silly
Martinet, though the person Charlotte describes sounds like
The invitation to find a new Troop sounds like an attempt at
more punishment, but really it was a big favor. I only suggest
that she mention to her District Commissioner or Exec the sort
of *hazing* to which Scouts in the old Troop are being subjected
to by these *sorry excuses* for Scout Leaders! Give the silver
tab (or "duct tape") crowd something to get excited about. The
fact that these clowns in the former Troop may have served in the
Marines is no explanation for the imposition of degrading physical
discipline on youths. I believe that such conduct would get them
sued (& sacked) in Mich. Let alone being a clear violation of
common sense, mature thinking, and (last but not least <g>) BSA
Better luck in the new Unit, Charlotte!
