Hey Gregg...I almost passed this by. Make sure if you're going to
change the topic, to change or alter the "subject line". Makes it
easier to followup (and easy for those like me archiving specific

Does your Post *have* a *specific "uniform", or DDI (distinctive dress
identity)? Does EVERYONE including your Post President KNOW what that
DDI consist of?

Then, it is time during your Post Cabinet meeting (you ARE having
those, right? *nudge nudge*), you need to TELL your Post President
respectively that he needs to "shape up and start Presidenting!".

Why? Does it have information that THEY can use, or is it full of
stuff that they have no interest in? Minutes of the past meeting are
fine in a larger Post or Ship, but it sounds like your Post is a small
operation, so such formality is not really needed.

First, your Post Officers NEED TO BE TRAINED. So does your Advisor.
This is a neccessary thing if you want to be a successful Explorer
Post. Without this training, your Post President will continue to
flunder and you two will continue to spin your wheels trying to get
Second, your Post needs to have monthly Post Cabinet (planning)
meetings, whereby everything behind the scenes are doled out and
tasked out to all of the Post Officers.
Third, your Post is in dire need of SOMETHING TO DO. I betcha there's
not a whole lot going on, and you spend most of your time sitting
around someplace. Exploring is about EXPLORATION, not inaction. You
need to go out there and see what you and your fellow Explorers can do
in the six experience areas of Exploring (don't know what they are?
It's a good sign your Post needs that training I was speaking of !)
Finally, your Advisor should be working closely with the Post
President. If he or she isn't, then the Advisor isn't doing his or
her job. Likewise, you should be working with one of the Associate
Advisors. That's how Exploring works as far as the officers are
concerned; it's a coop between the adults in your unit and the youth
members whom call the shots.
Hope all of that helped...sorry it took so long to get this in reply
to you, but I'm slowly working on the backlog!
