My name is Paul Eustace and I am from the Sam Houston Area Council, Houston,
Texas (Two times NBA Champions! Go Rockets!).
As a member of the Scouting forum on CompuServe, I have been publishing the
CyberScout Roundtable (CSR) for the past several months. As a new member of
Scouts-L I would like to solicit information from you on the different topics
that I'll use for the CSR in the future.
Currently, I'm assembling material for the September file and the focus will be
on DEN CHIEFS. I am attempting to include information from knowledgeable
Scouters on what should be included in the training for these DEN CHIEFS, along
with what your greatest concerns are. How you handle recruiting, selecting from
the list of candidates, etc? What training material do you use? Do you encourage
the DEN CHIEFS to attend Roundtable with their Den Leaders so that they can
share the same training times and themes, etc. What ages and Scout ranks do you
look for (or exclude)
Please E-Mail me directly (73542.655@CompuServe.Com) with your replies and I'll
try to include them in the Den Chief issue.
You can view the CSR on the U. S. Scouting Service home page:
Just an FYI and some background on me. I am an eight year Scouter who has held
or is currently holding some of the following positions in Scouting:
(past) Webelos Den Leader, ASM, Boy Scout Roundtable Staff, Scout Leader
Training Chairman, District Youth Protection Training Chairman, WoodBadge
Staffer (SR 23)
(current) District Training Team member, SHAC Commissioner Training Team Member,
Unit Commissioner, Troop Committee, Council Youth Protection Training Chairman,
and International Commitee Member.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Yours in Scouting & WWW,
Paul L. Eustace
