Regarding the e-mail from Linda on Females at camp:
My troop does not have any current polices regarding females at camp.
However, we currently have two female leader that do attend most of the
camping trips with us.
The only rules that I know of are just hearsay, but I will say them hear
Male and female leader shall not sleep in the same tent, unless they are
related by blood or marriage.
No leader (either male or female) may share a tent with a scout unless they
are related be blood. (I think this is from child Protection Guidelines)
There must be separate latrine facilities for female leaders, or use of the
buddy system, where one buddy waits outside the latrine.
I think that Linda does have a valid complaint with the Committee Chair, and
I would suggest forcing the issue, to the District Executive, or council, if
necessary. Most parents, male or female would not go through those type of
hoops to assist the troop. I commend you linda, for being a true scouter.
